CNC Machinist I
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for using CNC machining centers to produce machined components.

- Read part prints and understand traveler
- Load raw materials into the CNC machines to produce parts
- Monitor machine operation to detect any problems or errors
- Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and replace any tools as needed
- Run multiple machines if cycle times allow
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and steel toe shoes
- Adheres to all applicable ISO standards, procedures, and work instructions.
- Load part programs
- Modify tool/workpiece offsets in the program
- Perform basic part set ups
- Create part programs in Mastercam or on the machine controller and have the ability to use machine tool controls functions from various manufacturers
- Perform complex part set ups
- Operate machines using 4th / 5th Axis or multiple spindles
- Understand Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Set-up and use measuring instruments
- Have advanced understanding of G and M Code
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to CNC Coordinator
EDUCATIONAL OR SKILLS PREFERRED:
A high school diploma and vocation school experience in related industry. Good Mathematics skills. Possess normal compliment of machinist grade tools and other personnel hand tools. Good mechanical inclination, finger and arm dexterity skills, stand or walk, lift/move 50 lbs are required. Familiar with forklift operation.
